Kuranda Train and Rainforestation

Kuranda Train and Rainforestation is a fantastic way to explore Kuranda. At the top of the Kuranda Range, you will find one of Cairns’s most loved attractions. Inside Rainforestation, you will find a host of animals. As well as a fantastic Aboriginal culture display. This is certainly one of the best ways to see the stunning rainforest.

Kick-off your day by taking a bus journey to Rainforestation in Kuranda.

Rainforestation

Through dance and song, you may learn about Aboriginal culture. They will teach you not only how to throw a boomerang, but also how to throw a spear! Before visiting the Tropical Fruit Orchards, take a ride on the WWII Army Duck. As you gaze out over the gorgeous lagoon, have a nice meal at the restaurant. Visit some native animals, including a Koala snuggle!

The DUKW (nicknamed Duck) is a six-wheel-drive amphibious version of a WWII 2-tonne CCKW vehicle.

DUKWs are still used for tourist travel across the world.

Twelve of these vintage autos can be found in Rainforestation. Each contains a 6-wheel driving system, a propeller, and a rudder, as well as seating for up to 30 guests. Your expert Duck Captain will point out beautiful plants and animals as you pass by. Enjoy a 45-minute rainforest tour before going into the lake for a cruise where you may see even more wildlife.

You can also visit the tropical fruit orchard after your tour. You may learn about over 60 different exotic tropical fruit plants here.

Koala and Wildlife Park

The Koala & Wildlife Park allows guests to learn more about Australian native animals. As well as interact with them up close!  You may spend as much time as you like exploring the Wildlife Park. With many raised boardwalks that also make it easy to see the surrounding area. So see what Australian critters and reptiles you can spot in the Kuranda Rainforest.

Hand-feed the kangaroos and wallabies who roam freely on the grounds. Also, keep a look out for the critically endangered cassowary and Lumholtz’s Tree Kangaroo. Meet Juliet, our sneaky wombat, and other natural wildlife. Not to mention, Ricky, the mischievous Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo, can also be found chattering away. You can see a range of pythons and lizards at the Reptile House. Especially don’t forget to see the Koalas!

Dingo Enrichment, Crocodile Feeding and Macropod Feeding are just a few of the Wildlife Presentations on offer during the day. Remember that your Wildlife Park Admission includes unlimited re-entry for the day. So, come back as often as you like.

Pamagirri Aboriginal Experience

Rainforestation Nature Park protects and shares Indigenous Australian culture. So, you can experience the Dreamtime and old customs when you visit Kuranda.

A dance performance and a Dreamtime walk are part of the Pamagirri Aboriginal Experience. The Pamagirri Dance Performance takes place in a magnificent jungle amphitheatre. Feel the culture come alive as they tell you a narrative about animals, food-collecting, and hunting. You can watch the tale unfold with the didgeridoo and clapsticks. Also, watch how they make didgeridoos and use them in ceremonies. So watch how they play this by making animal noises like kangaroos and kookaburras!

In fact, be sure to keep a careful eye on the performance! Because there is a surprise at the end for the audience!

Kuranda Village
